Attractions in Muang.

1.    Chao Mae Song Nang Phi Nong Shrine is sanctuary of Mukdahan located on Samranchaikong road along the Meakong River. People in Mukdahan make event sacrifice on Visakha Bucha Day.


2.    Wat Srimongkhontai located along the Meakong River on  Samranchaikong road. Here is enshrined of “pra chao ong luang”
Buddha statue as create before Mukdahan province.     


          3.     Chao Pho Chao Fa Mung Mueang Shrine 
Chao Pho Chao Fa Mung Mueang shrine is on Song Nang Sathit Road. It is here that the city shrine is located. It is believed that the shrine was built at the same time as the founding of the city. The people of Mukdahan regard the shrine as a sacred place that preserves the city's happiness. 




Attraction in Dontan district.

1.     Bronze Kettledrum Kept at Wat Matchimawat (Wat Klang) close to Don Tan District Office, the one-sided bronze kettledrum is 86 CMs. in diameter and 90 CMs. long. The drum, which is probably more than 3,000 years old, is a collection item for the Kha and Khmer.


2.     The Princess Mother Park - Woraphat Base.  It is Thailand’s only military base that HRH the Princess Mother and HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana spent overnight.



Attraction in Wanyai district.


1.     Wat Manophirom Located on the bank of the Mekong River, the ancient temple was built by artisans from Vientiane. The temple houses statues of eight Buddhas carved from black ivory and Phra-ong Saen, a sacred Buddha statue of Mukdahan.


   2.     Wat Ban Song Khon or Our Lady of the Martyrs of Thailand Shrine  The huge Roman Catholic Church in a modern architectural style is named the largest and most beautiful church in Southeast Asia. The church won the Architectural Design Award 1996 from the Association of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage.



3.     Wat Phra Si Mahapho . The old “Sim” or Ubosot was built since 1916 in the folk northeastern style with beautifully carved wooden brackets supporting the roof. The murals inside feature the Vessantara Jataka and depict Prince Damrong Rajanubhab riding a cart when he made an inspection trip in Isan.


Attraction in Nongsung district.



1.     Wat Phu Ko Cho or Wat Banphot Khiri. The mountaintop temple was once accommodation for Luangpu La Khemapatto, a famous monk in Vipassana mediation of Mukdahan. A bell-shape pagoda known as Khemapattachedi was built to house his ashes, with his lifelike statue placed on the top floor of the building underneath the pagoda.





Attraction in Nikhomkham-Soi district.





1.     Wat Phu Dan Tae or Wat Phuttho Thammatharo . The temple houses a huge Buddha statue with a Dhammacakka - Wheel of the Doctrine - at the back, which can be noticed from a distance.




Attraction in Dongluang district.

1 .    Antique wooden elephant located Bub Pha Ram temple, Ban Nambo, Nongbua Subtrict. Here have big  antique tree.


Attraction in Khamcha-i district.




1.     The small church located in Srisatapan temple Moo 7 Tambon Nong Ian Khamcha District, Mukdahan. The church is wide and 4 m long, 5 m does not appear in the construction.
